Aaron Rinn, Trioba, MomarTeam members Ryan VanGorder and Aaron Rinn spent last weekend running around Squamish, the recreational capital of British Columbia. They participated in the Mind Over Mountain Adventure Race that was put on by another team mate, Jen Segger. Ryan and Aaron took two less experienced racers, who they produce the Trioba adventure race with, through what would be some of the best single track, trail running and rappelling that Squamish has to offer.

The race started with a quick run around a local university and then headed up, up and up on technical single track and forest service roads. All four members of the team had a blast working their butts off on the climbs and eating up the downhill sections. The highlight of the biking section came in the form of a new trail called Half Nelson that was banked, burmed and table topped from top to bottom. There were two separate trekking sections, one that required some navigation to get from trail to trail and the final trek sent teams up the massive cliffs of the Stewamus Chief. Racers were rewarded with views of Howe Sound, Squamish and a nice 180 foot rappel down to a ledge where they hiked back down.

The team finished 2nd in the coed four person category and everyone had smiles on their faces. The Pacific Northwest classic tops its day of racing off with a memorable party that no racer should miss out on. If you missed the Squamish Momar then get the September Cumberland race on your calendar and get out on the trails.
